Top Caps: Top caps are snapped on top of the uprights. Most often made from plastic, rust and degradation is not an issue. Replacing top caps is usually because they’ve detached from the upright and gone missing. Bottom Track: The bottom track of the pool is the groove that holds the pool walls in place. Because of the direct contact with the ground and the elements, metal versions can rust quickly. Top Plate: The top plate is the point where the top ledge, upright, and stabilizers join. Many older pools are made with metal versions, which tend to rust quickly. Other materials are available today that won’t rust out, thus allowing more time between replacements.
